Picture 1. An aerial view of the ponding banks constructed in stage I, after re-seeding in stage II (February 92). Note how the vegetation is accumulating in the ponding banks where the storm water is collecting. The ponding banks have also assisted other areas to pond water and they are revegetating as well. |
Picture 2. An aerial view of the results of stage I and II, eighteen months after the beginning of the project. Although bare areas are apparent in the foreground, the overall results have been gratifying. Local flooding from storm water has been arrested and a sustainable revegetation program has been established. |
